Meeting Gardens. Practicing the rural through art and care for sustainable and inclusive perspectives. 2025
2025, Vicenza
Meeting Gardens. Practicing the rural through art and care for sustainable and inclusive perspectives, now in its third edition, it has established itself as a hybrid annual project which, basing its research and practices on non-formal approaches, aims to collectively imagine sustainable and inclusive alternatives for living and acting in and with the territory through active and reciprocal exchange with local rural communities and those on the margins.
Meeting gardens alternative program, is an initiative part of Hypervillage Capacity Building for Cultural Operators to Manage the Digital Transition – TOCC, funded by the European Union. It welcomes a community of participants with whom to engage in discussions and share ideas, experimenting with practices in gardens, vegetable gardens and agricultural settings, starting from the theme of waste, explored and investigated in its broadest and most intertwined possibilities.
Together, we cultivate and share skills, abilities and knowledge in contact with the earth and the languages of art, embracing mutualistic and reciprocal perspectives, to make ourselves active and responsible members of human and non-human communities.
In September, the Meeting Gardens Festival takes shape. Scrabula is a travelling exhibition for the city of Vicenza, with the aim of connecting cultivation and cultural practices between the city's vegetable gardens and gardens and bringing different communities closer to new ways of creating a world.
Meeting Gardens Festival. Scrabula is a project by Bucce Studio and ife collective, sponsored by the City of Vicenza and supported by the City of Vicenza, the Giuseppe Roi Foundation and the Monte di Pietà Foundation.
